Trying to find a use for Signet of Deadly Corruption
I liked the looks of this signet [skill]Signet of Deadly Corruption[/skill] but was really having a hard time figuring away to make it effective in PVE I came up with the following. This was built with the Hero/Hench mindset (this is why no rez and no defense) please review and let me know your thoughts. (I know the flames are coming I just wanted to figure a way to work this skill)
[skill]Assassin's Promise[/skill] [skill]Black Mantis Thrust[/skill] [skill]Jungle Strike[/skill] [skill]twisting fangs[/skill] [skill]Signet of Deadly Corruption[/skill] [skill]Signet of Toxic Shock[/skill] [skill]poison tip signet[/skill] [skill]shadows refuge[/skill]

Seems acceptable for H/H
Just weapon swap after Twisting fangs to a staff if energy gets tight.
Make your hero's have some conditions as well and your set.

Signet of deadly corruption won't be useful unless they take out the need for a dual imo.

The only time I've ever found it better than running a Blades of Steel spike is if you have Temple Strike in the mix e.g:
BMT-->TS-->BSS-->TF-->SoD.
After experimenting around it's far easier and effective to get the max of +120 with BoS than it is the +130 with SoD especially in a Promise build.

i recommend throwing virulence in this build instead of poison tip, you can make your foe crippled, deep wounded, bleeding, poison, disease, and weakness and you'll have the maximum effect of signet of deadly corruption and sadist signet.

Good point. Maybe even better than Temple Strike given the instagibness of it all. A/N Assacaster awaken!

Works good with friends and guildies though.

Virulence is an elite though meaning you would also have to drop Assassin's Promise. And wouldn't that kill the entire build? The recharges on some of the skills are less than desirable.

Ah yes, but the OP's focus was on SoDC, not AP. And IMO, Signets belong on caster sins and dagger attacks on dagger sins. So my advice would be: to get the best use out of SoDC, make an A/N Assacaster with Virulence as its Elite.

I agree. Until then, the skill description should read thus:
"Must follow a dual attack. This attack deals a pathetic amount of damage for each Condition on target foe. This skill takes too long to recharge."

Agreed.
It's to low a return for the amount it effects your build structure.
Basically you have to run your whole build and attack chain around trying to get max return from one signet.
BoS is vastly superior imo.

Now you're thinking purely DPS-wise, which is besides the point. BoS has to hit, since it's an attack. BoS is a DM skill pur sang and hence is not viable in DA-heavy builds that would consider including SoDC. SoDC is ranged, while you have to be in melee range (vastly more dangerous) for BoS.
You can't really compare the two skills, they differ on so many levels. BoS on a caster, lol.

I ran this in RA last night a couple times, and it was pathetic if someone strips Assassins Promise. (Yes I know I was building it for PVE but I had only a little time to play last night and figured what the heck) I was surprised to see some foes with hex removal on there bar. Since they added the faction / key deal to PVP RA competition quality has increased a little. From my experience Warriors and people who run dmg builds and never think of hex removal. Anyway when I got the combo off you can get a great spike off of the signet. I got a 200 plus hit off of one target (not sure if the guy hit frenzy or heal signet) but I was surprised. All and all my thoughts are change the requirement of the signet to must follow an assassin attack skill….
This should work fine in PVE since you know in advance who has hex removal
I will have to try the [skill]virulence[/skill] suggestion

In PVE you can probably drop Black Mantis Thrust for a self heal or Critical Defenses too.
Edited last post to show, and added attributes.
